Health Plan Advisory Councils: Strengthening Provider & Hospital Engagement

Challenge

Health plans struggle to effectively engage providers and hospital leaders in strategic initiatives, resulting in limited feedback, misalignment, and challenges in adoption and execution.

Solution

Developed and facilitated both a Hospital Advisory Council and a Provider Advisory Council to create structured forums for engagement. These councils provided dedicated space for hospital and provider leaders to learn about upcoming initiatives, share perspectives, and assess how changes would impact their organizations and patient care delivery.

Impact

Strengthened alignment between the health plan, hospital systems, and provider network, improving the quality of feedback and collaboration on strategic initiatives. Enabled hospitals and providers to better prepare for and adapt to changes, while increasing stakeholder buy-in and supporting smoother, more effective implementation across the ecosystem.
